Poker Shortcuts is now an open source (free software) project. You can download the source code and view documentation here. The source code also comes with the regular download of the software. If you like to be involved with software development, testing, documentation, wiki pages, etc., let us know as we'd like to see this project continue on with an active group of users/developers to help make Poker Shortcuts even better.

Poker Shortcuts
We are changing Poker Shortcuts from a commercial software package to a "free" "open-source" software package.
Firefox is an example of open source software, where the software is free, and a community of users develop, test, document and support the software. I think it is a pretty awesome model for software development, and it can work well if there is a critical mass of people that have an active interest in the project. Gaining critical mass is probably the most challenging aspect for the success of a project.
Why would we be willing to go open source with Poker Shortcuts? We've aren't doing this for the money. As you may know, we give all of the money that we receive for our software to various charities (details here). And we personally don't have any interest in making a larger company. Going open source with Shortcuts will potentially allow it to grow and continue for years to come.
I have had a number of requests from users to add major additional features to Poker Shortcuts and to support additional poker sites. With the involvement of more people, I believe that a larger design group could substantially add to Shortcuts features and capabilities.
Regarding critical mass... a lot of users are already helping others with technical support on the forum. Over the last three years, most new feature ideas have come from active users. Some people have even sent me code examples for features that they would like to see in the software. Poker Shortcuts is written in AutoHotKey, and there are a lot of poker players that have written software in this language. Consequently, I believe that a critical mass could gel.
If you have been involved with an open source project, let me know your experience. If you would like more info on open source projects... There is a great "free" book available and a video and another video about open source projects. It might be overkill, but google offers project hosting to help with some of the tasks of running an open source project.
A wide variety of talents are needed, including web documentation, providing tech support, project management, testing, and writing code. If you have an interest in being involved, email me (email address is on the contacts web page).
Within the next week, I plan to have the source code available. Watch for an announcement here.

FT Table Opener
I have taken a long hard look at updating the FT Table Opener software, and I have come to the conclusion that it would be very difficult to modify the existing software to make it work with the new Full Tilt software. Full Tilt has made significant changes to their lobby (and tables) and has made it much more difficult for external software to interface with it. For these reasons, we will not be upgrading Table Opener.
If there is interest by others, I will make the source code for FT Table Opener available (it's written in AutoHotKey), perhaps as a GNU open source project. If you have interest in working on this, email me (email address is on our contacts webpage).
I wish I had better news for you about Table Opener.

Update on Poker Shortcuts working with the new Full Tilt software:
New version available: 4.0031 (see the version page for complete list of changes). This version fixes a few bugs including a problem where Shortcuts was stealing focus from other programs.
I have updated the buglist listing all known problems. If you know of another problem that is not on the buglist, please email me with a description, and if possible, include a screen image like this one.
