FT Shortcuts: Download, Install and Configuration

Trial Version Limitations

The unregistered (trial) version of FT Shortcuts works with one "real money" poker table open. Plus, you can use the software with the maximum number of play money tables. This will allow you to verify that the software is running correctly on your computer, with your other software, and your internet connection.

Download FT Shortcuts

July 8, 2009 - Announcement:
Full Tilt Poker just made a major upgrade to their software, which prevents our software from working correctly. We are currently working to make Poker Shortcuts compatible with the new version. After that we will work to make FT Table Opener compatible.

The following download will NOT work correctly with Full Tilt Poker.

FT Shortcuts Version 3 -- Version: 3.38

To Download FT Shortcuts:
  1. Click on the button above to download the installation program.
  2. A dialog box will appear to "Save" or "Run" the this program. Click "Run" to start running the installation program. (Alternatively, you can click "Save" to save it to your hard drive first. Then you will need to run it from wherever you saved it.)

Installing FT Shortcuts

Current users of FT Shortcuts: If you have an older previous version of FT Shortcuts installed, you should NOT uninstall it first. Just install the new version over the old. Be sure to close FT Shortcuts if it is currently running before installing a new version. If you are reverting back to an older version of the software, then you will need to un-install it first.

To Install FT Shortcuts:

  1. Run the installation program that you downloaded.
  2. Follow the instructions in the installer program. I strongly recommend that you install the program into a folder in your Program Files folder that the program suggests.

Running FT Shortcuts

Vista users: You MUST run the program as an administrator. Right Click on the program name or icon and select "Run as Administrator". To always run as administrator, Right Click on the program name, select properties, Compatibility tab, check "Run this program as an administrator". If you don't have a desktop icon for this program, open Windows explorer (Win key + E), navigate to the folder that contains this software, and right click on the program name (FullTiltShortcuts.exe), click properties, compatibility tab, and check "Run this program as an administrator". If you have UAC (User Account Control) turned off on your computer, then these options may be grayed out and you don't have to check the "Run this program as an administrator" option.

Vista users: FT Shortcuts is NOT compatible with the Vista Aero theme (Aero slows down many programs and interferes with others). To turn off Aero theme:

  1. Right-click your Windows desktop and select Personalize.
  2. Click on "Window Color and Appearance. The "Appearance Settings" dialog box will appear.
  3. In the Color scheme drop-down box, choose Windows Classic, Windows Vista Basic or Windows Vista Standard, and click OK. Aero will now be turned off.

Run FullTiltShortcuts.exe by clicking (or double clicking) on the program name (or the shortcut icon created for this program).

Registering and Unlocking the Software

You can test and use the trial version of the software for as long as you like. After you have tested the software and it works to your satisfaction, you can purchase a registration that will allow you unlock the software and you can use this registration on two of your own computers.

If you have not purchased a registration yet, skip to the next section.

After you register, you will receive an email from us with your Software Order Code. You will use this code to unlock the software. This one code is used to unlock the software on two of your own computers. Keep this code as you will need it each time you install the software on a computer AND you will need it if you upgrade the software when we come out with a major new release.

To unlock your software, follow these steps:

  1. If you have not already done so, purchase a registration using our order form.
  2. You will receive an email with your Software Order Code. Save this code for future use.
  3. If you have not already, Download and Install the software on the computer you wish to use. You may install the software on two of your own computers.
  4. Go to the Reg tab on the software. Copy your Software Order Code into the box with the same name.
  5. Click on the "Get Unlock Code" button. You will be taken to a web page to get your unlock code. Copy the unlock code into the box next to the "Get Unlock Code" button.
  6. Click on the "Unlock Software" button. You software should now be registered.

New computer or second computer installation: Follow the above steps if you are installing the software on a new computer or a second computer. On both of your computers, use the same Software Order Code.

Third installation (or more): Remove the software from one of your earlier installations, and install the software on your new computer. Follow these same instructions to register the new computer.

Lost Software Order Code: If you misplace your software order code, send us an email with your name and email address that you used to register. We will then email your software order code to you.

Full Tilt Poker Configuration:

Go to the main Full Tilt Poker lobby, click on the menu item "Options", and make sure that

Calibrating to the Color of your Table Felt:

This program looks at the color of the table to see if there are board cards present, which is used to determine what "street" the action is at. When you first use this program, OR when you change the color of the table felt, you must configure this software to the new colors of the table.

  1. Go to the "Calib" tab on the FT Shortcuts program.
  2. Open one (and only one) Full Tilt Table.
  3. When there are no board cards present, click on the "Calibrate Felt Colors" button on the Calib tab.
  4. You should hear a beep, and see the color of the felt appear in the 3 colored boxes on the "Calib" tab page.
  5. Repeat the process if you did not capture the table colors without any board cards present.

If you plan to play at Tournament or SnG tables that are Heads Up or 6 man tables, you will also need to calibrate the color of your table's seats, so that FTS can determine the number of seats at the table. Go to the Calibration Instructions for details.

USER INTERFACE:

You can define what keys or mouse buttons you would like to use for the features of FT Shortcuts. In the boxes where it says to enter a keyboard or mouse code, you can use the defaults provided, or enter your own choice for keys or mouse buttons. For example, if you want to "Reload All" tables to maximum chips using the F1 key, simply type F1 into the "Reload All" edit box. If instead you want to use control key with the F1 key to activate this feature, enter Ctrl & F1 into this edit box. Each key/mouse configuration box must have a different key/mouse assignment. You should not put the same mouse or key code in more than one configuration box. Nearly every possible keystroke/mouse button combination is possible. Note: if you accidentally assign the same key or mouse code to 2 different commands, one of them will not perform correctly.

Key Examples :

If you are using keys on the numeric keypad you need to use special numeric keypad commands. For example the '+' key on the numeric keypad needs to use 'NumpadAdd' instead of '+'. This is because the numeric keypad keys are different from the keys on the normal part of the keyboard. See the complete key list here.

Mouse Examples :

* Note: The Left and Right mouse buttons are used for so many functions in the operation of a Full Tilt table, that you normally should not assign these buttons to features in Shortcuts (so that you don't disable or interfere with their normal functionality).

Alt & WheelDown ...... activate when Alt is held down and the wheel is moved down

For a complete list of key definitions, go here.

Multiple key-mouse assignments for one feature:

You can assign more than one key or mouse button to a feature. If you want to FOLD using the f key OR the F11 key OR the XButton1 mouse button, you would put the following into the Fold box: f | F11 | XButton1

That vertical bar is called the pipe character, and it is located above the \ (backslash) key on most keyboards. You can think of the | character as meaning "OR". You will not be able to use the | character to control FTS features (as it is now the separator character). I find this useful because sometimes I like to use the keyboard to play and sometimes I like to use a mouse. So you can assign a key and a mouse button to perform the same operation.

MICE:

You may assign various mouse buttons to activate features in FT Shortcuts. Newer mice often have five or more buttons that can be used to activate functions in FT Shortcuts. They main buttons are

Many different mice can be used with FT Shortcuts, but you may have to do some configuring. If you install a mouse without any special drivers in Win XP, it should work well with the "generic" setup. However, you may have to use the software that comes with the mouse to make some changes.

Logitech: If you install the Logitech "Setpoint" software it will change the mouse buttons to no longer be "generic". To change buttons back to generic, run "Setpoint", select the mouse tab, select the button you want to change back to generic, under "Select Task" select "Other" and select "Generic". You may want to do this for the two buttons on the left side of the mouse, and the mouse wheel down button.

Microsoft: In my experience so far, Microsoft mice will keep their generic settings unless you change them using the Microsoft Intellipoint software package. If you need to assign other keys (beside the five main ones, you can use Intellipoint to assign mouse buttons to keyboard keys.

If you are having trouble making certain mouse buttons work as expected, you may have to reassign the buttons to their generic form using the manufacturer's software.

If your mouse has additional mouse buttons that you would like to use, you can use the manufacturer's software to reassign the various buttons to a keyboard key that FTS can understand. This can give you a lot of flexibility in controlling all of the features. For example you can "map" or reassign a mouse button to the "F10" key, and whenever that button is pressed, F10 will be sent to the FTS script. If you assign one of the FTS features to use F10, then this feature will be activated when that button is pressed.

You can often assign the same mouse button to 2 different features in FTS. For example the Middle Mouse button could be assigned to "Reload Chips" and "Open Notes". Since the mouse must be pointing at different areas on the Full Tilt window, there is no confusion as to what action will be performed. Choosing mouse buttons to use may take a little experimentation to avoid conflicts with other uses you have for the same buttons.

Keyboards:

Many features can be controlled by pressing keys. Simply put the desired key in the edit box for the feature. For example the UP arrow keys can be used to increase the bet size by putting UP in the Increase Bet edit box.

Gamepads and Joysticks:

The buttons on most gamepads and joysticks can usually be used with FT Shortcuts. Joystick support is enabled on the Misc tab.

Note: The following Joystick features are Experimental and currently in Beta testing.

Buttons:

Various buttons on the joystick are numbered Joy1 through Joy32. You can use the "Show Joystick values" (on the Misc tab) to determine which buttons correspond to which joystick value.

Analog controls:

Some joysticks have 1 or more analog controls. Three analog controls (designated by XY, ZR, and UV) are supported. The following values are supported in Shortcuts (the numbers represent angles from 0-270). Only 4 positions are recognized by Shortcuts.

JoyXY0 JoyXY90 JoyXY180 JoyXY270

JoyZR0 JoyZR90 JoyZR180 JoyZR270

JoyUV0 JoyUV90 JoyUV180 JoyUV270

POV (D-Pad) control:

Most joysticks have an 8 position digital control. The values that are supported are:

JoyPOV0 JoyPOV45 JoyPOV90 JoyPOV135 JoyPOV180 JoyPOV225 JoyPOV270 JoyPOV315
